Tracy Young started riding horses at the age of eight and was immersed in the Equestrian sporting lifestyle, in Great Britain until at the age of eighteen. Her Qualifications earned in England include the British Horse Society Stages 1 and 2 earned as a working student at Loughton Manor Equestrian Center.  Pony Club B test and the National Certificate in the Management of Horses from the West Oxfordshire Technical College of Stud and Stable Husbandry, Witney, Oxford, UK.  As a horse crazy young girl, Tracy competed  on Combined Training, Show jumping and Tetrathalon teams for the local riding and the Oakley West Pony Club.  Later Tracy was a Polo Groom for The Royal Guards Polo Club and competed in a Polo match in Windsor Park!
At the age of eighteen an opportunity to come to the United States brought her to sunny Southern California!
Now as a U.S. citizen Tracy has earned her U.S.D.F. Bronze and Silver Medal, U.S.D.F. Silver 
Freestyle bar and is a U.S.D.F. L graduate with distinction, in training to become U.S.E.F.licensed
dressage  judge.  Tracy is available to judge dressage schooling shows and teach clinics.
Tracy worked as a self employed Trainer/ Instructor in Agua Dulce, California for 17 years at Moonshine Mountain Ranch. 
After this she worked with the Gray Barron Morgans and Paint horses
 Competing them successfully in Open Dressage and Freestyle competition through Intermediate 1 and winning many USDF awards and Morgan Horse and Paint horse Association Awards and Championships. 

Tracy has been a loyal student of Hilda Gurney for two decades. She was the Young horse trainer at Keenridge, starting the young horses under saddle and prepares them for competitions.
Hilda is a continuing inspiration with her amazing work ethic, love for her horses and generosity to her students.
Tracy is always ready to learn and often rides in clinics with excellent coaches and judges such as Judy  Harvey, David Hunt, Dr Christian Schact and Ralf Isslehorst.
Tracy has bred three foals from Premium Oldenburg broodmare, Silver Prinzess* (Silver Lining / Papillion ) , Prinzess was ranked in 5th place for mares on the West Coast in 2006. Prinzess first  foal Leopatra aka” Ellie  (Silver Prinzess* / Leonidas*) born May 31st 2006, was also Premium at her foal inspection and second at Cool August Nights as a yearling. As a three year old Leopatra was placed 1st of all mares inspected on the West Coast and Premium status for the Oldenburg registry of North America and thus was entered into the Main Mare book. Her full sister Loyalty aka “Dolly”  was born May 4th 2008. She also placed 2nd at Cool August Nights filly championships in 2010  following in her Mother and sisters footsteps in 2011 at her 3 year old inspection she was approved into the main mare book.

In 2012 Tracy competed Dolly in the FEI Young horse test for 4 year olds. She scored a 80% in front of the French O judge Jean- Paul Routier, who wished them good luck for the future!
In 2013 they won the Dressage Association of Southern CA First level Championships, with a 70+% score.
They also competed in the US West Coast finals for the FEI 5 year old Championships and held their own with 70% scores. They were invited to the US Dressage finals in Lexington , Kentucky.

The newest addition to the herd is Wintz Charming, his sire is Winterprinz, born April 1st 2010  stable named “Folly” after his April Fool’s day arrival. He is currently 18hh at age 3 and a half. He scored 8.4 on his wonderful movement at the 2010 Oldenburg registry of North America inspection. In 2012 Wintz Charming won the California Dressage Society Sport horse award and the two year old Championship at Los Angeles Breeders Classic. Tracy is looking forward to showing him  and his sister in Affiliated Dressage Competitions this season in the UK.

Tracy enjoys teaching the Open, Adult Amateur rider and Young riders.  She focuses on correct riding position and classical training of the horse following the training scale.  All the horses in training enjoy daily turn out and weekly trail rides in the local mountains.  She believes that the happiest horses enjoy a variety of different training exercises and often incorporates Cavalletti and free jumping in the work program.  She has  vast experience with Stallions and has started many, many babies under saddle and has very successfully prepared Mares and Stallions for Breed Registry Inspections and Performance tests.  She loves all breeds of horses and ponies and has experience with many different breeds.
